The Wine Wizard is a very special and magical fellow.

He stands in wool long pointed slippers, with tassles of course, on a footed wooden plinte painted as black/crème/gold checkerboard—one of his slippers is so long it hangs over the plinthe and has a charm dangling.

His height is 22” from plinte foot to top of his conical hat. He is wearing ankle gathered pants, a blousey shirt, lined vest, apron and softly bowed tie—all in wine theme fabrics. Stitching, brass buttons and charms embellish his vest. His conical hat fabric is stars and moons and adorned with brass charms and gold metallic eyelash trim. His curly white hair and long mustache are made of Australian mohair. He sports a brass hoop ring in one ear lobe and eyeglasses are perched on his regal nose.

In one hand is a glass of wine and in the other a list of the wines he knows all about! On his shoulder is an owl—they share wisdom. Lady bugs are also on the piece—as always—for good luck. Around his neck is a “pewter” sommeliar tasting bowl and from his vest hang the keys to the wine cellar and a brass grapes charm he was awarded for excellence.

His apron pocket holds grapes, a bottle of wine, and the “magic of wine” book. The plinthe is decorated with grapes, bottles of wine, a pitcher, a tray and his book “wine wizard” his name reflects a bit of word play on varieties of wine.
