The Woodland Santa is constructed on a dowel and standing on a black and ivory checkered with gold accent plinth.
The face and hands are sculpted of polymer clay. I do not use molds, so each face and hands are different from the others. His eyes are crystal beads. His beard is white mohair from New Zealand. The cloak is patchwork suede cloth embellished with decorative embroidery and crystal beads. Recycled vintage fur is used for trim as an oversized collar, cuffs, hat edge, center front and bottom edge of the cloak. The fur can be wolf, rabbit, bear, monkey, mink, fox or seal.
A decorated twig wreath is over one wrist and the other has a long cord with bells and toys attached. A collection of twigs are attached to the plinth, his arm goes around them and they house a nest and birds. The twigs extend beyond his hat.
The base also has moss, tree pods and birds. As always, look for the lady bugs I always add to my work for good luck.
